In 1967, the Santa Cruz county board of super-visors commissioned me to make a short film documenting the condition of farmworker housing in Watsonville, California. The people who lived there graciously allowed us to step into their homes. These photographs and the interviews we taped served as the evidence that housing which was unregulated was also often unlivable.
